About 55,000 OSRAM LED fluorescent tubes are being recalled urgently due to the risk of overheating, melting or possible burns. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Tuesday that optoelectronics manufacturer OSRAM has received 34 reports from customers complaining about overheating or melting of OSRAM LED tubes. There are currently no reports of casualties. The recalled product is a SubstiTUBE IS T8 LED tube, model number 73312-1 or 73315-1. The tube is white and 48 inches long. It was sold from December 2014 to May 2015. About 46,300 and 8,700 were sold in the United States and Canada respectively. Consumers should stop using the lamp and remove it from the lamp cover.
