SCHOTTEL launches new thrusters

SCHOTTEL, a manufacturer of marine and offshore propulsion steering systems, has introduced a new ocean and offshore propeller: SCHOTTEL EcoPeller.

According to SCHOTTEL, the new thrusters combine quality and technology, computational fluid dynamics simulations, and model tests to provide the ship with a maximum overall efficiency and heading stability to ensure ship owners receive lower fuel consumption. Operating costs and emissions.

SRE is based on the SCHOTTEL SCD design principle: a vertical motor is integrated with the rudder propeller. This integration will eliminate the need for the upper two bevel gears and the shafting. On board, the EcoPeller thruster will provide low vibration and low noise levels.

In addition, thanks to the equipment side ready-to-install combination and the Schotter motor assembly, the EcoPeller thruster will provide additional motor options based on the user's needs.

SCHOTTEL will supply the EcoPeller thrusters covering the power range from 1,000 kW to approximately 5,000 kW in mid-2016. Each power booster has a fixed pitch propeller and an adjustable pitch propeller variant.
