Under the leadership of Yunnan University, Academician Zhang Yaping, Honorary President of Yunnan University, and Deputy Dean of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, formed Professor Li Canpeng from the School of Chemical Engineering of Yunnan University, Researcher Zhao Hui, PhD student Liu Feng, and Master Student Xie Wei is an interdisciplinary research team. The team developed an electrochemical sensor to detect the COVID-19 virus in just 2 weeks, and established its sensitive, fast and convenient detection method. In cooperation with the Second People's Hospital of Yunnan Province, the research team carried out the detection of COVID-19 virus RNA in clinical samples such as serum and throat swabs. Compared with the standard detection method used by the hospital, the two methods have a high detection rate. . On this basis, the research team will further optimize the detection sensitivity and provide new detection methods for the prevention and control of new coronary pneumonia.
This new electrochemical sensor detection method is simple and easy to operate, the detection cost is low, the detection device is cheap and easy to carry, the data reading is fast and intuitive, and it is easy to popularize and apply. It is understood that the research team is currently cooperating with the University of Science and Technology of China to develop the next-generation COVID-19 virus detection technology with stronger specificity and higher sensitivity in order to achieve a comprehensive improvement in detection capabilities.
