Recently, Daqing Volvo Car Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Volvo Car Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the AQSIQ according to the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall, and decided to recall from May 20, 2017. (1) Daqing Volvo Car Manufacturing Co., Ltd. recalled some domestically produced 2017 S90 long-wheelbase vehicles produced between November 17, 2016 and February 28, 2017, totaling 3,843 vehicles;
(2) Volvo Car Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. recalled some imported 2017 S90, V90 Cross Country and XC90 vehicles produced from November 21, 2016 to March 1, 2017, totaling 2,843 vehicles.
Due to the supplier's problem, the vehicles in the scope of this recall may have deviations in the surface treatment process of the safety curtain fixing bolts, which may cause the bolts to be easily broken. If the vehicle uses one or more defective bolts, the bolt may break and may cause an abnormal noise during driving. If the vehicle collides, the safety air curtain may protect the occupants from lower than expected, posing a safety hazard. Daqing Volvo Car Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Volvo Car Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will replace the affected bolts on the vehicles within the recall to eliminate potential safety hazards. Stock vehicles will be sold after the elimination of hidden dangers.
