Product characteristics

PVC molecular chain is a winding structure and contains polar groups of chlorine atoms, which makes the force between molecules large. This structure improves the rigidity, hardness and mechanics of PVC processed products, and endows them with excellent flame retardant properties.

There are chlorine atoms and hydrogen atoms between two adjacent carbon atoms on the main chain of PVC Resin, which makes PVC easy to degrade under the action of light and heat to form hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas.

Properties of PVC:


General performance:

PVC is a white powder with a relative density of 1.35~1.45 (g/cc). The hardness of the processed products can be greatly different from that of the products with different hardness by adding the amount of Plasticizer during processing.


Mechanical properties:

The tensile strength of PVC increases with the increase of polymerization degree, but the amount of plasticizer added in PVC has a great impact on the mechanical properties. Generally speaking, the mechanical properties decline with the increase of plasticizer content, but the elongation at break will increase.

Thermal performance:

The glass transfer point temperature of PVC is 80~86 ℃. The PVC resin starts to decompose at 140 ℃ to produce HCl, which accelerates rapidly at 180 ℃. Generally, the melting temperature of PVC is 160 ℃.

Electrical performance:

PVC is an excellent electrical insulation. The volume impedance is higher than 10 λ 14, but the volume impedance is easily affected by the type of processing additives and additives.

Chemical resistance:

PVC can resist most inorganic acids (except fuming sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid), alkalis, most organic solvents (ethanol, gasoline and mineral oil) and inorganic salts, and is suitable for chemical resistant materials. However, PVC is easy to swell or dissolve in esters, ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons and halohydrocarbons, and the best solvents are tetrahydrofuran and nitrobenzene.
