· 846,000 Mazda was recalled to the airbag

According to the website of the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, a few days ago, FAW Car Co., Ltd. and Mazda (China) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the AQSIQ according to the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall, which was decided from 2016. Starting from September 23, the following parts of domestic and imported Mazda vehicles were recalled, totaling 845,761 units, as follows:

(1) FAW Car Co., Ltd. recalled the 2005-2013 Mazda 6 ordinary passenger cars produced during the period from July 3, 2006 to March 31, 2016, with a total of 822,560 vehicles;

(II) FAW Car Co., Ltd. recalled the 2010-2013 Mazda 8 multi-purpose passenger vehicles produced during the period from April 19, 2010 to April 26, 2016, with a total of 22,740 vehicles;

(3) Mazda (China) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. recalled some imported Mazda RX-8 sports cars from 2003 to 2004, which were produced between January 29, 2004 and November 5, 2008, for a total of 461 vehicles.

The airbags of some vehicles in this recall range were equipped with an ammonium nitrate gas generator without a desiccant produced by Takada. When the airbag is deployed, the gas generator of the airbag may be abnormally damaged, causing the debris to fly out, injuring the inside of the vehicle, and there is a safety hazard. FAW Car Co., Ltd. and Mazda (China) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. will replace the airbag gas generators for vehicles in the recall range to eliminate safety hazards.

The recall was carried out under the influence of the AQSIQ defect investigation. Since June 2014, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has conducted a defect investigation on the rupture of the high-altitude airbag gas generator, and issued a safety warning for the Takada airbag. Recently, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has also talked about a number of vehicle manufacturers including FAW Car Co., Ltd., and asked them to take effective measures to ensure the safety of consumers.
