First, the hydride of hydrazine

Stibine SbH 3 is a colorless, flammable, highly toxic gas, like hydrogen sulfide odor. SbH 3 is less toxic than AsH 3 .

SbH 3 is slightly soluble in water and easily soluble in organic solvents. SbH 3 is unstable and decomposes at room temperature:

2SbH 3 2Sb+3H 2

When SbH 3 is decomposed, a "锑 mirror" reaction similar to " arsenic mirror" can be formed. The arsenic mirror is soluble in NaClO, while the frog mirror is insoluble in NaClO. This is one of the ways to distinguish between arsenic and antimony.

SbH 3 is highly reducible and is easily oxidized by oxygen in humid air:

2SbH 3 +3O 2 Sb 2 O 3 +3H 2 O

Second, the halide of bismuth

The trihalide of hydrazine is strongly hydrolyzed in solution to form a poorly soluble hydrazide halide precipitate:
SbCl 3 +2H 2 O Sb(OH) 2 Cl+2HCl
└→ SbOCl↓ (oxathanum chloride or decanoyl chloride) + H 2 O
