The pyrite cinder is sieved with a 100-mesh sieve to remove the coarse grade material, and the fine grade sieved product is subjected to magnetic separation. XCRS-φ4000×240 electromagnetic wet multi-purpose drum weak magnetic separator (Hubei Prospecting Machinery Factory) was selected. A part of the direct magnetic separation, the obtained products are 1# and 2#; the other part is ground by a rod mill for 2 minutes, and then magnetically selected to obtain 3# and 4# products. Grinding concentration C = 50%.

The pyrite slag is treated by magnetic separation to obtain a higher grade of iron concentrate, which can reach more than 61%, but the yield of the concentrate is low and the recovery rate is not high. The grinding slag after grinding is obviously better than the magnetic separation effect without grinding. The yield and recovery rate of concentrate are 37.60% and 47.20%, respectively. The content of Pb has little effect, but the content of S reduce. It can be seen that a single magnetic separation process does not achieve a good selection index and needs to be used in conjunction with other processes such as re-election.
